What is the EVHIP?
The Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle Incentive Program is part the Ontario government’s initiative to lower carbon emissions through purchase and/or lease incentives for eligible electric vehicles (EVs) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCVs). What does this mean for you? It means that, when you’re looking to purchase an EV, you’ll be able to take advantage of up to $14,000 in rebates!
So, how does this all work? The rebate has two components for eligibility: electric range and seating capacity. The greater the range of distance that a vehicle is capable of running on an electric motor, coupled with increased seating capacity inside, translates to a higher eligible rebate incentive. Additionally, the vehicle’s Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) must be less than $75,000 in order to be eligible for rebates. For more information on the EVHIP, click here!
