At Hyundai of Muskoka, we believe that transparency is essential when buying a vehicle. It is particularly important when you are purchasing a vehicle from out of town and you will not be able to come in to physically see your vehicle. To help make the process as smooth as possible, we provide our out-of-town buyers with a thorough mechanical report, comprehensive vehicle history reports, and full disclosure at every point of the process.

1. The Customer completes and signs a certificate of exemption for purchasing a vehicle outside the province.
2. We are responsible for obtaining the necessary documents to ensure that the individual purchasing a vehicle is not an Ontario Resident. Two pieces of acceptable ID are required and can by any two of the following:
Out-of-Province Driver’s License
Out-of-Province Medical Plan Card
Current utility bill showing address of service
Vehicle registration (we cannot accept vehicle registration and driver’s license together as this does not prove residency)
Items including credit cards, Social Insurance cards or birth certificates are not acceptable as identification.
If the purchaser resides in a province with PST, only 5% GST will be charged by our dealership if you are able to provide the above documentation. Applicable PST for your province must be paid at the time of vehicle registration.
There are two options for residents of provinces with HST such as Ontario:
1. Charge 5% GST, with any additional tax due at the time that the customer registers a vehicle in their province.
2. Charge the applicable HST rate for the customer’s province up front.

We will provide you with all of the information you need to make a purchasing decision including comprehensive CarProof vehicle history reports, maintenance history, and other materials on the vehicle.
What if my vehicle is damaged during shipping?
Our shipping partners are fully insured and any new damages found after transport will be rectified. If for any reason the vehicle does not arrive in the same condition it was in when it left our dealership, you can rest assured that you will be completely taken care of. We will not stop until you are completely satisfied.
Do I have to get an inspection on my car once it arrives?
If your pre-owned vehicle is being shipped outside of Ontario to another province, it requires an out-of-province inspection. This low-cost inspection is a formality to ensure the vehicle you are bringing in meets the requirements of your province.
Our reconditioning standards mean that the vehicle that you are purchasing will meet the requirements of your home province. You will also receive, via email the service inspection on this vehicle and the printed copies will arrive with the vehicle as well.
What does “Certified” mean and what does it get me?
Getting a Certified Pre-owned Hyundai means attractive pricing, competitive financing rates, warranty options, and peace of mind knowing a vehicle has been through our stringent inspection and reconditioning standards.
So if I am not buying a Hyundai does that mean I am getting a sub-standard vehicle?
Absolutely not. We are dedicated to ensuring that we sell a quality vehicle no matter what the brand. Our entire pre-owned inventory has been fully inspected and reconditioned to the standards set by our dealership and dealer group.
What kind of finance rate would I get?
We work with a number of financial institutions to ensure that we get you the most competitive rate for the vehicle you are purchasing. A number of factors can affect what rate we can get. Our Financial Services office will work diligently to ensure we are getting the best rate for the vehicle you are buying.
What kind of guarantee or warranty do I get?
Depending on the vehicle that you are purchasing, there may or may not be a remaining manufacturer’s warranty. For added peace of mind, we offer tailored warranties for your specific driving needs. We will work with you to ensure you get adequate coverage for your vehicle.
Do you offer protection packages or 3M?
We offer many products intended to protect your new investment. 3M, rust proofing, undercoat, paint protection, leather and vinyl protection and window tint are all items offered through our dealership. These items can also be added to any finance or lease contracts.
